While I'm all for spaces just for us adults (that aren't bars) I also think it's important for children to experience "adult things." Kids are often picky eaters because we offer them things similar to what you'd find on a typical kids' menu at a restaurant. And those things are usually really bland. Gross even, sometimes. I was at a very nice restaurant once and my son ordered the pasta. It was basically noodles tossed in butter with very minuscule portion of parmesan. Like barely any. And my son is a cheese guy. My son is also a foodie and has had things like calamari (and likes it!). I just wish that adult options are available in half sizes so kids could have it too. My son would prefer roasted salmon to chicken fingers any day!

Note: Some restaurants DO offer things like salmon, and sometimes, even steak (!!) on their kids' menu. Many tend to be higher end though.
